Are Dog Vaccines Needed for Pet-Friendly SLC Hotels?
Some pet-friendly SLC hotels may not require vaccine records at check-in, but your dog should be current on rabies vaccination. It’s still smart to carry proof, especially if you plan to use pet daycare or dog boarding services in SLC at any point during your stay. Dog boarding services may require additional dog vaccinations aside from rabies, including distemper or DHPP and Bordetella (+/- canine influenza, depending on the establishment).
Aside from vaccine updates, make sure to keep your dog up-to-date on flea, tick, and heartworm preventatives to help protect them while using shared, dog-friendly areas. These preventatives are generally recommended, even if your itinerary does not include outdoor hikes or other dog-friendly Salt Lake City activities.
