A happier, healthier pet starts here

Your pet doesn’t dream about surgery (obviously), but what they do want is to stay healthy, carefree, and comfortable — and spay/neuter is one of the best ways to help them do exactly that.

At Sploot, we make it smooth, safe, and stress-free from start to finish. From the first “hello” to the post-op snuggles, we’ve got your pet covered (in both love and soft blankets).

We’re excited to see you at your consultation. If you have any questions before then, feel free to reach out—or save them for your vet during your visit.

Why spay & neuter actually matters

Here’s the deal: this procedure doesn’t just help prevent unwanted litters (though yes, that’s huge). It also helps prevent serious health issues like uterine infections, mammary tumors, and prostate disease — plus it can reduce certain behaviors like marking, roaming, and aggression.

In other words: it’s a quick procedure that pays off for a lifetime.

What happens at your consultation

Think of this as the pre-game check-in. We’ll meet your pet, do a full nose-to-tail exam, and make sure they’re healthy and ready for anesthesia.
Your vet will walk you through the plan, answer every single question, and give you an estimate based on your pet’s size and needs.
Blood work is required before we schedule the procedure — it ensures your pet’s body is in top shape for anesthesia. It runs around $150, give or take depending on what’s needed.

Exam fees:

$99 in Illinois
$89 in Colorado

Once your pet is cleared, you’ll have 30 days to schedule the surgery before we need new labs.

Surgery day at Sploot

On the big day, your pet comes in for their nap (a.k.a. anesthesia), and we handle everything from there

Safe and Cozy Under Our Watch

We place a breathing tube, monitor their heart rate and oxygen levels continuously, and keep them cozy with warm blankets while they snooze.

Gentle Anesthesia, Careful Monitoring

The procedure itself is typically under an hour. We use modern pain management before, during, and after, so recovery is smooth and comfortable.

Quick, Gentle, and Pain-Free

Most pets go home the same day — sleepy but safe — and by the next morning, they’re usually wagging or purring again like nothing happened.

Bailey the rescue pup came in for her spay nervous but wagging. Everything went perfectly—she was up and eating dinner that night, and her family said she was back to zoomies by day two.

Mochi

Mochi the cat strutted out post-neuter like the king of the world. His family said he’s calmer, cuddlier, and still very much in charge of the couch.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is anesthesia safe?

Yes! We run full exams and bloodwork before the procedure and monitor your pet every step of the way.

What’s the difference between spay and neuter?

Spay = removing the ovaries/uterus (females).
Neuter = removing the testicles (males).

Will my pet change after the procedure?

They’ll still be themselves—just calmer, healthier, and less likely to roam or mark.

How long does recovery take?

Most pets feel back to normal in a day or two, with full recovery in 10–14 days.

Do I need to come back for a recheck?

Yep! We’ll schedule a quick follow-up to check healing and remove sutures if needed.

Do you offer financing?

Yes—CareCredit is available for any procedure over $200.

Does SplootPack apply here?

Absolutely. You’ll save on the consultation, procedure, and follow-up meds.

When should my pet be spayed/neutered?

Typically between 5–12 months, depending on breed and size—but your vet will recommend the best timing.
