Dr. Seff’s Veterinary Journey

Dr. Kristi Seff graduated in 2025 from Kansas State University. She has wanted to be a veterinarian since she was a little kid, and the more involved she became in veterinary medicine, the more she fell in love with it. She always dreamed of traveling the world and helping animals wherever they need it most, and that dream still drives her today. For Dr. Seff, being a veterinarian means making a difference for animals at home and around the globe. Today, Dr. Seff is a United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) accredited veterinarian and holds a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Incident Management for Disaster Relief certificate. She is also a member of WORLD VETS, Worldwide Vets, and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA).

Dr. Seff’s Career & Experience at Sploot

As an Associate Veterinarian at Sploot Veterinary Care - Salt Lake City, Dr. Seff has a special interest in surgery and international medicine. Her favorite thing about working at Sploot is the work-life balance, which gives her the freedom to travel and provide veterinary care around the world. That balance lets her follow her passion for helping animals in communities that need it most, while still giving her full attention to the furry companions and pet parents she sees in Salt Lake City. She believes what makes Sploot stand out to pet parents in Salt Lake City is being open 365 days a year with extended hours, and offering all-in-one veterinary care under one roof.

When asked about advice for someone pursuing a career in veterinary medicine in Salt Lake City, Dr. Seff responds with a poignant quote from a well-loved book: “"No heart has ever suffered when it goes in search of its dreams. - The Alchemist”

Outside of Work

Dr. Seff loves doing anything outdoors, whether that means running, biking, skiing, camping, hiking, paddleboarding, or traveling. She also loves to read and try new restaurants. Dr. Seff is a dedicated pet parent to a lively household of four: Tove, Thyme, Thistle, and Thimble. Tove is a 3-year-old mixed-breed dog who loves to play and lives for attention. Thyme, a 1-year-old cat, is Tove’s best friend. Thistle, also a 1-year-old cat, was fondly described by the veterinarian as “the loudest purring machine you’ve ever heard”. Lastly, Thimble is an 8-year-old ball python, who, when smaller, used to spend hours wrapped around Dr. Seff’s hair.
