Dr. Melissa Carbajal graduated from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México in 2020. Her beloved dog, Chente, played an important role in inspiring her journey into veterinary medicine. Through her love for animals and appreciation for the special bond they share with their families, Dr. Carbajal developed a passion for providing high-quality veterinary care. She states: “Dogs and cats are members of a family. I hope to treat each patient with the detail and care that they deserve.” Today, she brings that same compassion and dedication to her patients, striving to treat every dog and cat top-tier care. Dr. Carbajal is a licensed veterinarian in Illinois through the Illinois Veterinary Licensing and Testing Board (IVCA) and a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA).
As an Associate Veterinarian at Sploot Veterinary Care in Chicago, Dr. Carbajal has special interests in surgery, dentistry, and dermatology. Outside the clinic, Dr. Carbajal enjoys painting, swimming, and spending quality time with her beloved dog, Pinky. Pinky is a 5-year-old Pug with a sweet personality and a love for life's simple pleasures. Dr. Carbajal fondly shares that one of Pinky's most endearing traits is that he only understands Spanish.
