Dr. Matthew Vonch graduated from the University of Illinois in 2026. His passion for veterinary medicine grew from a desire to provide the best possible care for both his own animals and the beloved pets of others. He finds fulfillment in helping pets receive high-quality medical care so their families can feel confident and satisfied with their veterinary experience. Dr. Vonch is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), Colorado Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA), and American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP).
As an Associate Veterinarian at Sploot Veterinary Care in Denver, Dr. Vonch has special interests in soft tissue surgery, neurology, and ophthalmology. He appreciates Sploot's extended hours and availability 365 days a year, which help make veterinary care more accessible for busy pet parents. He also values Sploot's Fear Free clinic environment, designed to help make veterinary visits more comfortable for pets and their families.
One of Dr. Vonch's favorite aspects of working at Sploot is the emphasis on work-life balance, allowing veterinary professionals to pursue fulfilling careers while maintaining time for their personal interests and loved ones. As he continues developing his veterinary career, Dr. Vonch values building meaningful professional connections, offering the following advice for aspiring veterinarians in Denver:
“Connect with people who are in the field and ask for any opportunities that may be available. Build connections with other people in the vet industry as they can go a long way in terms of shaping your career and opening up new paths.”
Outside the clinic, Dr. Vonch enjoys spending time outdoors, particularly hiking and exploring Colorado's scenic trails. He has already climbed a couple of Colorado's famous 14ers and hopes to conquer even more in the future. He also enjoys cooking and baking, which provide opportunities to explore his creativity outside veterinary medicine. At home, Dr. Vonch is a proud pet parent to two West Highland White Terriers, Sophie and Gracie. He fondly shares the two distinct personalities of his fur babies: Sophie loves being around people and wants to be involved in everything happening around her; meanwhile, Gracie has a stubborn personality and loves acting tougher than she really is.
