Dr. Joshika Chande graduated from Michigan State University in 2023. Her passion for veterinary medicine was inspired by her grandmother, who shared her deep love for animals. Growing up, Dr. Chande witnessed her grandmother care for injured stray animals in Bangalore, India, where she regularly welcomed animals in need into her home. Whenever Dr. Chande visited, she would help her grandmother and these early experiences ultimately inspired her to pursue veterinary medicine. Today, Dr. Chande carries that same dedication into her work, helping pets receive the top-tier care and attention they deserve. She is also a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), Michigan Veterinary Medical Association (MVMA), and Multicultural Veterinary Medical Association (MCVMA).
As an Associate Veterinarian at Sploot Veterinary Care in Chicago, Dr. Chande has special interests in general practice, shelter medicine, and helping pet parents understand arthritis treatment options for their pets. She values Sploot's all-in-one approach to veterinary care, which allows pets to receive comprehensive medical services in one convenient location. She also appreciates the accessibility of veterinary services through Sploot's daily availability, as well as the Fear Free clinic environment designed to help pets feel more comfortable during visits.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Chande enjoys taking walks and exploring Chicago's vibrant neighborhoods. Although she recently moved to the Chicago area, the city already feels familiar, having visited multiple times a year while growing up. She loves discovering new coffee shops, exploring local bakeries, and browsing independent bookstores.
